In my recent travels I visited schools that were the grounding life force for homeless children. Children who live in the shadows… It opened my eyes.
There are so many reasons these children exist this way, and not one reason points to their being at fault. They are not a devalued commodity. In order to create and support school that can change the world, they cannot be left out of our consideration or care. They are our kids too..and part of the future. What kind of a future do we want to create?

I agree that this series in the NYTimes is stellar.

    The NYT series looks really good. I’m sure you’ve heard of Jonathan Kozol? One of the best writers on education and poverty that I’ve come across.
