To plug in or plug out..that is the question

imageSchools are spending their budgets on shiny new technology. Ipads for all. Could the ipad or tablet be the answer to global education woes, or key to individualized learning and delivery of the new common core curriculum?

Well..Stuff..and more of it, seems a common response to discomfort in this culture..but is it the ultimate answer this time? Nope . Not likely.

Tablets and computers et al are definitely a welcome and exciting addition to the thinking and creating  person’s toolbox…and for some students is an excellent vehicle of expression…..but in and of itself…is not a singular savior. …not the magic pill to pave our way into the future with grace and intelligence without doing or using anything else…

There will be no easy fixes…..we will have to work on this a bit more…plug away…image
Some problems with this thinking are showing up already….more to come.
